How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the generator from the utility and loads before tightening any electrical connections.
- Check cable sizing: Verify that the conductors between the All Power America generator and the ATS are sized according to the installation manual. Long runs with small wire cause voltage drop.
- Tighten lugs: Turn off all power and tighten all output lugs and neutral/ground bars in the generator and ATS.
- Test AVR: If voltage drops excessively under moderate load, replace the AVR with an OEM unit.
- Engine performance: Confirm that the engine maintains rated RPM under load; address fuel or governor issues if it does not.
