Generator fails to start, controller displays E010 Start Failure after several crank attempts

Safety first: Avoid repeated long crank attempts to prevent starter and battery damage. Allow the starter to cool between attempts.

• Listen and observe: Note whether the engine cranks but does not fire, or does not crank at all. This guides diagnosis.
• If no crank:
  • Check battery voltage and connections.
  • Verify the start relay in the control panel clicks when a start is commanded. Replace if inoperative.
  • Test the starter solenoid for voltage during crank. If voltage is present but the starter does not engage, replace the starter motor.
• If cranks but no start:
  • Confirm fuel level and that fuel isolation valves are open.
  • Bleed the fuel system at the filter and injector pump if air is suspected.
  • Check engine stop solenoid or fuel actuator is energizing during crank.
  • Inspect engine ECU fuses and power supply.
• Review active alarms: Other active shutdown alarms (e.g. low oil pressure, E‑STOP) can inhibit start. Clear root causes first.

If E010 persists after basic checks, a deeper engine diagnostic with OEM tools may be required.
