Possible Causes
Clogged air filter element, Collapsed intake hose, Blocked intake grille, Faulty air restriction switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Stop the generator and ensure the engine cannot start automatically before opening the air filter housing.
- Inspect air filter: Open the air filter housing and remove the primary element. If heavily soiled or damaged, replace with a genuine or equivalent filter specified by Atlas Copco.
- Check intake path: Ensure the intake ducting and rain hood are free of debris, snow, or nesting material.
- Examine hoses: Look for soft or collapsed intake hoses that may restrict airflow under suction. Replace if deformed.
- Test restriction switch: If the filter is clean but the alarm persists, test the air restriction switch or sensor with a multimeter and replace if faulty.
After replacement, reset the E018 alarm and run the generator to confirm normal operation.
