Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Diesel and water mixtures can be hazardous. Use appropriate containers and dispose of contaminated fuel according to local regulations.
- Drain water separator: Locate the fuel pre‑filter/water separator. Open the drain valve and collect water/fuel until clear diesel flows. Close securely.
- Inspect main tank: Check for signs of water in the main tank (condensation, rust). If significant water is present, the tank may need to be pumped out and cleaned.
- Check sensor: Many separators have an integrated water sensor. Inspect wiring and clean the sensor probe. Replace if the alarm persists with no water present.
- Prevent recurrence: Ensure tank vents are properly capped and that fuel deliveries are from reputable suppliers.
After clearing water and resetting the E019 alarm, run the generator and monitor for reoccurrence.
