How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Glow plug circuits carry high current. Disconnect battery negative before working on the circuit.
- Check fuse: Locate and inspect the glow plug fuse. Replace if blown and investigate for shorts.
- Test glow plugs: Remove the electrical connector from each glow plug and measure resistance to ground. Replace any plug with open circuit or significantly different resistance.
- Inspect relay: Verify the glow plug relay clicks when commanded by the controller. Test for voltage at the output terminal during preheat. Replace the relay if inoperative.
- Check wiring: Look for burnt or loose connections on the glow plug bus bar and harness.
After repair, confirm proper preheat operation and that E024 clears.
