Controller shows E027 Exhaust Temperature High

Safety first: Exhaust components are extremely hot. Allow adequate cooling time before inspection.

• Check load: Reduce generator load to within nameplate rating and observe if exhaust temperature returns to normal.
• Inspect exhaust: Look for crushed sections, blocked silencers, or stuck exhaust flaps that could restrict flow.
• Verify air intake: Ensure the air filter is clean and intake is unobstructed to prevent rich combustion.
• Test sensor: Inspect wiring to the exhaust temperature probe. Replace the probe if readings are clearly abnormal compared to engine condition.

Persistent high exhaust temperature under normal load may indicate engine tuning issues and should be checked by a technician.
