Emergency stop button engaged, Open or shorted E-stop wiring, Faulty E-stop switch, Controller input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the area is safe before resetting any emergency stop device.
- Reset E-stop: Locate the red emergency stop button on or near the generator enclosure. Twist or pull to reset, depending on design.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the E-stop wiring harness from the button to the controller. Look for damaged insulation, loose connectors, or moisture intrusion.
- Test switch: With power off, use a continuity meter to verify the E-stop switch opens and closes correctly. Replace if it does not operate reliably.
- Controller input: If the E-stop circuit tests good but ESTOP remains, the controller input may be faulty and the controller may need replacement.
- Clear the code: After resetting and repairs, cycle the controller to OFF then AUTO and attempt a start.
