Possible Causes

Low coolant level in radiator or overflow bottle, Failed radiator fan or fan relay, Blocked radiator fins or debris in air intake, Faulty coolant temperature sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn the generator OFF and allow the engine to cool completely. Never remove the radiator cap on a hot engine.

  • Inspect air flow: Check the intake and exhaust louvers on the Centurion enclosure for leaves, snow, or debris. Clear all obstructions.
  • Check radiator fins: Open the service panel and inspect the radiator. Use low-pressure air or a soft brush to clean dirt and bugs from the fins.
  • Verify coolant level: Once cool, check the overflow bottle and radiator (if accessible) and top up with the correct coolant mix if low. Look for signs of leaks around hoses and the water pump.
  • Check cooling fan operation: During a manual test, observe whether the electric cooling fan starts. If it does not, check the fan connector and the fan fuse/relay in the Centurion control panel.

When to call a technician: Persistent high temperature faults require pressure testing the cooling system, verifying thermostat operation, and possibly replacing the coolant temperature sensor or fan assembly.
