Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the generator is OFF and cannot start automatically. Allow the engine to cool fully before checking oil.
- Check oil level: Remove the service panel and pull the dipstick. Wipe, reinsert fully, and check the level. Add the manufacturer-specified oil grade until it reaches the FULL mark. Do not overfill.
- Inspect for leaks: Look around the oil filter, drain plug, and crankcase gasket for fresh oil. Tighten the oil filter by hand if slightly loose. Do not overtighten.
- Replace oil filter if due: If the unit is past its service interval, replace the Centurion-approved oil filter and refill with fresh oil.
- Reset and test: Clear the fault by turning the controller OFF for 30 seconds, then back to AUTO. Run a manual test and monitor for leaks and warning lights.
When to call a technician: If oil level is correct and the fault persists, the oil pressure switch or internal engine components may be failing. Do not bypass the switch; have a technician test oil pressure with a mechanical gauge and replace the switch if defective.
