Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the generator and disconnect the negative battery cable. Shut off fuel supply before checking ignition components.
- Inspect spark plug: Remove the spark plug and inspect for wear, heavy deposits, or cracks. Replace with the Centurion-specified plug and gap.
- Check ignition lead: Inspect the high-tension lead from coil to plug for cracks or burn marks.
- Test for spark (qualified persons only): Using a spark tester, verify that the ignition coil produces spark during cranking.
When to call a technician: If no spark is present with a good plug and lead, a technician should test the ignition coil and control board ignition driver and replace faulty parts.
