Possible Causes
Battery completely dead, battery disconnect switch off, failed start/stop switch on controller, open starter relay coil
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the generator is in OFF mode and the AC breaker is open before working on the battery or starter circuit.
- Verify controller display: If the controller screen is blank, check battery voltage and the battery disconnect switch. Charge or replace the battery as needed.
- Check fuses: Inspect the main DC fuse near the battery and any control fuses in the panel. Replace blown fuses with the correct rating.
- Test start command: Press the MANUAL start button and listen for any relay clicks. No sound may indicate a failed start switch or relay.
- Inspect starter relay: Locate the starter relay in the control compartment. Check for loose connections or heat damage. Replace the relay if it does not energize when a start is commanded.
If the unit still will not crank after these checks, further diagnosis of the controller and wiring harness is required.
