Possible Causes

Insufficient oil due to consumption or leaks, Faulty oil level sensor, Incorrect dipstick reading due to installation angle

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Allow the engine to cool. Disable automatic start before checking oil.

  • Verify oil level: Use the dipstick on level ground. Add the correct oil type until within the safe range. Do not exceed the maximum mark.
  • Inspect for leaks: Check around the oil pan, filter, drain plug, and crank seals for oil. Repair leaks and replace gaskets or seals as needed.
  • Oil level sensor: Locate the oil level sensor on the oil pan (if fitted). Inspect wiring and connector. If oil level is correct and the fault persists, the sensor may be defective and should be replaced.
  • Reset: Clear the fault on the controller and run the generator, monitoring for further oil loss.
