Generator enclosure is overheating inside, even if engine temperature is normal

Safety first: Disable automatic start. Surfaces may be hot; wear gloves.

• Clear airflow paths: Remove leaves, snow, or debris from all intake and exhaust louvers on the Cummins enclosure.
• Check clearances: Ensure installation meets Cummins minimum clearance requirements from walls and structures.
• Ventilation fan: If your model has an enclosure fan, verify it runs when the generator operates. Replace the fan motor if failed.
• Internal cleaning: With power off, carefully remove dust and debris from around the engine, alternator, and radiator using low-pressure air or vacuum.
