Possible Causes
Engaged emergency stop button, Faulty emergency stop switch contacts, Shorted safety loop wiring, Defective control module safety input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Confirm there is no immediate hazard (fire, gas leak, mechanical damage). Turn OFF the generator and disconnect battery negative.
- Check emergency stop: Locate the red emergency stop (E‑stop) button on the generator enclosure. If it is pressed in, twist or pull to reset it.
- Inspect E‑stop switch: Remove the switch from the panel and check the terminals for loose wires or corrosion. Test continuity with a multimeter to ensure it opens and closes correctly.
- Trace safety loop: Follow the safety circuit wiring (often daisy‑chained through low oil, high temp, and E‑stop). Look for pinched or grounded wires that could falsely trigger the circuit.
- Bypass test (temporary): For diagnosis only, you may temporarily bypass the E‑stop switch by connecting its two wires together. If E15 disappears, replace the switch. Do not operate long‑term with safety devices bypassed.
- Controller input: If wiring and switches test good, the control module safety input may be defective and require replacement by a technician.
