Possible Causes

Blocked ventilation openings, High ambient temperature and inadequate clearance, Cooling fan failure, Dust buildup on cylinder fins

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the generator and allow it to cool completely. Disconnect battery negative before cleaning.

  • Clearances: Ensure at least the minimum clearance specified by DuroMax (often 3–5 feet) around all sides of the enclosure.
  • Clean vents: Remove leaves, dust, and debris from intake and exhaust louvers.
  • Cooling fan: Verify that the engine cooling fan operates and that belts (if used) are intact and properly tensioned.
  • Clean fins: Use compressed air to blow dust and debris off cylinder and alternator fins.
