• Inspect exhaust outlet: Check the muffler outlet and any extension piping for obstructions such as nests, mud, or ice. Remove any blockage.
• Check exhaust piping: Follow the exhaust pipe from the engine to the outlet. Look for crushed sections, kinks, or severe rust. Replace damaged sections.
• Listen for restriction: When briefly running the engine, listen for hissing or whistling that suggests internal muffler collapse. If present, shut down and replace the muffler.
• Verify mounting: Ensure the muffler and exhaust brackets are secure and not causing stress that could collapse the pipe.
• After repair: Clear E19 and run the generator under load while monitoring exhaust flow and engine performance.
