How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the generator and close the gas supply valve. Only qualified gas technicians should adjust gas regulators or work on gas piping.
- Verify gas supply: Ensure the main gas shutoff valve is open and that the LP tank has adequate fuel. For NG, confirm service is active with the gas utility.
- Inspect gas line: Look for kinks, crushed sections, or signs of leaks (odor, hissing). Do not use open flame to check for leaks; use an approved leak detection solution.
- Check regulator vent: Make sure the regulator vent is not blocked by dirt, insects, or ice. Clear obstructions carefully.
- Measure gas pressure: A licensed technician should use a manometer to verify inlet and outlet pressures at the DuroStar‑specified regulator. Adjust or replace the regulator if pressures are out of spec.
- Cold weather considerations: In freezing conditions, ensure the regulator is protected from direct moisture and that LP tanks are not overdrawn, which can cause pressure drop.
