Safety first: Turn the generator OFF and disconnect AC loads. Wear eye protection when handling the battery.

• Inspect terminals: Clean and tighten battery terminals as described earlier.
• Load test battery: Use a battery load tester or have an auto parts store test the battery. Replace if it fails.
• Check charger output: With utility power present, verify that the DuroStar charger maintains 13.2–13.6V at the battery. Replace the charger module if not.
• Prevent future drain: If the generator sits unused for long periods, consider a maintenance charger or ensure the onboard charger is powered continuously.
