Possible Causes
Tripped main breaker, Failed AVR, Open stator winding, Loose output terminal connections
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the generator and verify the transfer switch is in utility position before working on output wiring.
- Check breakers: Ensure the generator's main breaker and any branch breakers are in the ON position. Reset if tripped.
- Inspect output lugs: Remove the output cover and verify that all cables are tight on the generator lugs. Tighten loose connections.
- Test voltage at terminals: With the generator running and breakers ON, measure voltage at the output lugs. If zero, suspect AVR or alternator issues (see E15).
- Replace AVR if needed: If excitation is lost and wiring is intact, install a new DuroStar AVR module.
