Possible Causes
Loose fuel line clamps, Cracked rubber fuel hose, Leaking carburetor bowl gasket, Faulty fuel tank fitting
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the generator, close the fuel supply valve, disconnect the battery, and ventilate the area. Do not operate the unit until leaks are repaired.
- Locate leak source: Wipe fuel‑wet areas dry and observe where fuel reappears. Check hose connections at the tank, filter, pump, and carburetor.
- Tighten clamps: Gently tighten hose clamps on barbed fittings. Do not overtighten plastic fittings.
- Replace damaged hose: Cut out cracked sections and replace with fuel‑rated hose of the same diameter, secured with new clamps.
- Carburetor leaks: If fuel drips from the carburetor bowl seam, replace the bowl gasket or the entire carburetor assembly.
- Tank fittings: Inspect the fuel tank outlet and sender gasket. Replace seals or the tank fitting if leaking.
