Safety first: Ensure the generator is in AUTO or OFF as appropriate while adjusting settings.

Steps:

Verify date/time: Enter the Eaton controller menu and set the correct date and time.
Set exercise schedule: Configure the weekly exercise day and time per the owner’s manual. Ensure the mode (with or without load) is correctly selected.
Save settings: Confirm that settings are saved and retained after a power cycle. If they reset, the controller’s RTC or memory may be failing.
Firmware update/replacement: Consult Eaton support for any firmware updates or replace the controller if the RTC is defective.
