Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the generator, close the fuel shutoff valve (if equipped), disconnect the spark plug cap, and keep all ignition sources away from fuel.
- Check fuel level and quality: Confirm there is sufficient fresh unleaded petrol in the Einhell fuel tank. If fuel is older than 3 months or smells sour, drain the tank and refill with fresh fuel.
- Inspect fuel filter: Locate the in‑line fuel filter between the tank and carburetor. Look for dark discoloration or debris. If clogged, replace with an Einhell‑compatible in‑line fuel filter of the same flow rating.
- Check fuel line: Inspect the rubber fuel hose for kinks, cracks, or collapse. Straighten any kinks and replace brittle or cracked hose with fuel‑rated hose of the same diameter.
- Test fuel solenoid (if fitted): On many Einhell standby generators, a fuel shutoff solenoid is mounted on the carburetor bowl. With the ignition switch ON (engine not cranking), listen or feel for a click at the solenoid. If there is no click, check the connector for corrosion and 12 V supply. If power is present but the solenoid does not actuate, replace the fuel shutoff solenoid.
- Carburetor bowl check: Place a container under the carburetor, loosen the bowl drain screw (or remove the bowl) and verify fuel flows freely. Clean out any sediment and reinstall with a new bowl gasket if necessary.
If E02 persists after restoring fuel flow, the control board or engine speed sensor may need diagnosis by an Einhell service technician.
