Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect both mains and generator power to the ATS. Verify zero voltage before touching any terminals.
- Check control cable: Locate the low‑voltage control cable (often multi‑core) between the Einhell standby generator control panel and the ATS. Inspect for cuts, rodent damage, or loose glands. Repair or replace as needed.
- Verify terminal connections: At both the generator control terminal strip and ATS, confirm that the remote start, common, and feedback wires are landed on the correct terminals as per the Einhell wiring diagram.
- Test remote start input: With mains isolated, simulate a remote start by briefly bridging the designated remote start terminals at the generator (refer to manual). If the generator enters start sequence without E09, the issue lies in the ATS or wiring.
- Check ATS control fuses: Inspect any low‑voltage fuses on the ATS control board and replace blown fuses with the same rating.
- Controller settings: Using the Einhell controller menu, verify that AUTO mode is enabled and that the correct ATS type is selected if configurable.
If E09 remains, the ATS control board or generator controller may require replacement by an authorized service provider.
