Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the engine switch and disconnect the spark plug cap before handling ignition components.
- Inspect spark plug: Remove the spark plug using the correct socket. Check for heavy carbon deposits, oil fouling, or cracked insulator. Clean lightly with a wire brush or replace with an Einhell‑specified plug (correct heat range and gap).
- Check spark: Reconnect the plug to the cap, ground the plug body to the engine, and crank the engine while observing the gap. A strong blue spark should be visible. If no spark, proceed to coil checks.
- Inspect ignition lead: Check the high‑tension lead from coil to plug for cracks or burn marks. Ensure the cap is firmly attached to the plug.
- Test ignition coil: Using a multimeter, measure primary and secondary resistance of the coil according to Einhell specifications. Replace the ignition coil if readings are out of range.
- Pickup sensor: Inspect the flywheel pickup/trigger sensor and its air gap to the flywheel. Clean any rust or debris and adjust the gap as specified in the service manual.
If E11 persists after replacing plug and coil, the control module may not be providing ignition drive and should be tested by a service center.
