Fuel Level Sensor / Fuel Starvation Protection
Display shows E12 and generator shuts down after a few minutes of running under light load

Possible Causes
Low fuel level in tank, Sticking float in fuel level sender, Faulty fuel level sensor wiring, Blocked tank vent causing vacuum lock
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Stop the generator, allow it to cool, and keep away from open flames when working with fuel.
- Check fuel level: Open the fuel cap and visually confirm the fuel level. Refill with clean fuel if low, following Einhell's recommended fuel type.
- Inspect tank vent: Ensure the fuel cap vent hole is not blocked. A blocked vent can cause vacuum in the tank and fuel starvation. Clean the vent with compressed air or replace the cap.
- Tap the tank gently: Lightly tap the side of the fuel tank near the level sender to free a sticking float. Do not use excessive force.
- Check sensor wiring: Locate the fuel level sensor connector under or beside the tank. Inspect for loose pins or damaged wires. Reseat the connector.
If E12 continues with a full tank and clear vent, the fuel level sensor may be defective and should be replaced with an Einhell‑compatible sender unit.
