Corrosion and water found inside generator control panel

Safety first: Isolate all power sources (AC and DC) before opening the panel. Verify absence of voltage.

• Dry the panel: Use a dry cloth and, if available, a low-heat blower to remove moisture. Do not overheat electronic components.
• Inspect seals and gaskets: Replace damaged door seals and ensure doors close tightly.
• Clear drains: Check canopy drain holes and roof design for blockages that allow water pooling.
• Check for corrosion damage: Clean light corrosion from terminals; replace heavily corroded components.
• Prevent recurrence: Improve site drainage and avoid pressure washing directly at panel doors.
