Possible Causes
Fuel supply issue (air in lines, closed valve), Weak starter motor or solenoid, Low battery voltage under load, Faulty engine stop solenoid not opening fuel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disable AUTO mode and isolate remote start signals. Avoid repeated cranking to prevent starter damage.
- Listen during crank: Note whether the engine turns at normal speed, slowly, or not at all. Slow crank suggests battery or starter issues; normal crank with no firing suggests fuel/air issues.
- Check fuel system: Confirm fuel level, open all fuel shutoff valves, and bleed the system using the manual priming pump until fuel is bubble-free at the bleed screw.
- Inspect engine stop solenoid: On mechanical fuel systems, ensure the fuel stop solenoid pulls fully to the RUN position when cranking. Check its fuse and wiring.
- Test batteries under load: Measure voltage while cranking. A large drop indicates weak batteries; charge or replace as needed.
- Starter inspection: If you hear a click but no crank, the starter solenoid or motor may be faulty. Check the heavy cables for tightness and heat damage.
- Clear alarm and retry: After corrections, reset the controller and attempt a MANUAL start, limiting crank attempts to avoid overheating the starter.
