Possible Causes

Weak or discharged battery, Faulty starter solenoid, Failed starter motor, Loose or corroded battery cables

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Ensure the generator is in OFF mode and ATS is in NORMAL/UTILITY. Wear eye protection when working around batteries.

  • Check battery voltage: Use a multimeter at the Firman generator battery terminals. A fully charged 12 V battery should read about 12.6–12.8 V. If below 12.2 V, charge or replace the battery.
  • Inspect battery terminals: Clean any corrosion from the battery posts and cable clamps using a wire brush and baking soda solution. Tighten clamps securely.
  • Check starter solenoid: Have an assistant attempt a start while you listen for a click at the starter solenoid. If there is no click, test for 12 V at the solenoid coil terminal when cranking. If voltage is present but the solenoid does not engage, replace the solenoid.
  • Test starter motor: If the solenoid clicks but the engine does not crank, the starter motor may be seized or worn. With the battery disconnected, inspect the starter wiring and mounting. Replace the starter motor if it fails a bench test.

After repairs, reconnect the battery, clear E07, and test start. If the code persists, the controller's start relay or wiring harness may require professional diagnosis.
