Possible Causes

Empty LP tank or low tank pressure, Undersized or restricted gas piping, Faulty gas regulator at generator, Defective fuel pressure sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Turn the generator OFF and close the gas shutoff valve before disconnecting any fuel lines. If you smell gas strongly, evacuate the area and call your gas supplier.

  • 1. Verify LP/NG supply: Check LP tank gauge for adequate level. For NG, confirm service is active and no upstream valves are closed.
  • 2. Inspect gas shutoff valves: Ensure the manual gas shutoff at the GE generator and any intermediate valves are fully open.
  • 3. Check for icing or regulator issues: In cold weather, inspect the LP regulator for icing. If icing is present, contact your gas supplier to correct regulator sizing or placement.
  • 4. Inspect generator gas regulator: Examine the GE generator-mounted gas regulator for damage or blockage. Ensure vent is not obstructed by insects or debris.
  • 5. Examine fuel pressure sensor wiring: Locate the fuel pressure transducer and verify the connector is secure and wiring is intact.
  • 6. Clear alarm and test: After restoring proper gas supply, cycle the controller OFF then AUTO and run a manual test. If the alarm persists despite verified pressure, the regulator or sensor may require replacement by a technician.
