Possible Causes
Cracked radiator hose, Loose hose clamp, Leaking water pump seal, Radiator core leak
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Allow the engine to cool completely before working on the cooling system. Hot coolant can cause burns.
- 1. Identify leak location: Inspect hoses, clamps, radiator, and water pump area for wet spots or dried coolant residue.
- 2. Tighten hose clamps: Gently tighten any loose clamps on radiator and heater hoses.
- 3. Replace damaged hoses: If a hose is cracked or swollen, replace it with a GE-compatible coolant hose.
- 4. Check radiator core: Look for wet fins or green/white deposits on the radiator. A leaking core typically requires radiator replacement.
- 5. Refill and bleed system: Refill with the correct coolant mix and bleed air as specified in the manual. Monitor for further leakage.
