Loose oil filter, Loose or damaged drain plug, Crankcase gasket leak, Valve cover gasket leak
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn the controller to OFF and allow the engine to cool before touching engine components. Clean up spilled oil to prevent slips.
- 1. Locate source of leak: Wipe down the engine and run briefly while observing for fresh oil. Focus on the oil filter, drain plug, and gasket seams.
- 2. Tighten oil filter and drain plug: Carefully snug the oil filter by hand and the drain plug with a wrench. Do not overtighten and strip threads.
- 3. Replace gaskets if needed: If oil seeps from the valve cover or crankcase seam, replace the affected gasket using GE-approved parts.
- 4. Refill oil and monitor: Top off engine oil to the correct level and monitor over several test runs for recurrence.
