Possible Causes
Failed engine start due to fuel/ignition issues, Sticking starter relay, Controller crank time misconfiguration
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Prolonged cranking can overheat the starter and wiring. Turn the generator OFF and allow the starter to cool before further attempts.
- Address no-start cause: Diagnose fuel, spark, and compression issues that prevent the engine from starting (see Overcrank scenarios).
- Inspect starter relay contacts: If the starter continues to run after releasing the start command, the relay may be welded closed. Replace the starter relay immediately.
- Controller settings: On programmable models, verify crank duration and rest times in the controller setup. Restore to factory defaults if misconfigured.
