Possible Causes

Low oil level causing poor cooling, Blocked oil cooler (if equipped), Failing oil pump, Faulty oil temperature sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn the generator OFF and allow the engine to cool. Do not touch hot engine surfaces.

  • Check oil level and condition: Verify oil level on the dipstick. If low, top up with the correct oil type. If oil appears burnt or very dark with sludge, perform a complete oil and filter change.
  • Inspect oil cooler: On models with an external oil cooler, ensure fins are clean and airflow is unobstructed. Clean with low‑pressure air.
  • Check for restricted oil flow: Replace a clogged oil filter with a Genergy‑approved filter. If the problem persists, internal oil passages or the pump may be restricted.
  • Test oil temperature sensor: Locate the sensor on the sump or oil gallery. Inspect wiring and test resistance against the Genergy service chart. Replace if readings are out of range.
  • Retest: Clear E14 and run the generator under light load while monitoring temperature readings.
