Possible Causes
Overloaded generator, Weak engine output, Governor droop misadjusted, Fuel restriction at higher demand
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Open the generator output breaker to remove load before making adjustments. Do not work on live circuits.
- Assess load: Compare total connected load to the Genergy generator's kW rating. Shed non‑critical loads and avoid starting large motors simultaneously.
- Check air and fuel filters: Replace clogged air filters and gas filters. Restricted flow can cause the engine to slow under load.
- Inspect governor linkage: Ensure there is no binding and that the governor spring is correctly installed. Adjust droop or gain settings only according to the Genergy service manual.
- Test under step loads: Reapply loads gradually while monitoring frequency. If frequency still drops excessively, engine performance testing (compression, ignition) may be required.
