Possible Causes
Failed battery charger, Parasitic draw from accessories, Old or sulfated battery, Loose battery connections
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the generator OFF and wear eye protection when working with batteries.
- Measure charger output: With utility power present, measure DC voltage at the battery terminals. It should be around 13.4–13.8 V. If it is at or below 12.6 V, the charger may not be working.
- Inspect charger wiring and fuse: Check the AC feed and DC output fuse to the Genergy charger module. Replace blown fuses with correct ratings.
- Test for parasitic draw: With the generator OFF, use an ammeter in series with the battery to measure standby current. Compare to Genergy specifications; excessive draw may indicate a stuck relay or accessory.
- Replace aged battery: If the battery is more than 3–5 years old or fails a load test, replace it with the recommended type.
