Possible Causes
Loose or damaged oil drain plug, Leaking oil filter seal, Crankcase gasket failure, Cracked oil cooler line
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the generator OFF, disconnect the battery, and place absorbent material under the leak area. Avoid slipping hazards.
- Identify leak source: Clean the engine exterior with a degreaser and run briefly to pinpoint the leak. Look around the oil filter, drain plug, valve cover, and oil cooler lines.
- Check drain plug and filter: Tighten the oil drain plug to the specified torque. Ensure the oil filter is snug and that the old gasket was removed during the last change.
- Inspect gaskets and lines: Replace leaking valve cover gaskets or oil cooler hoses with Genergy‑approved parts.
- Refill and test: Top up oil to the correct level, run the generator, and recheck for leaks.
