Possible Causes
Loose DC power connection to controller, Intermittent safety switch contact, Vibration-induced wiring fault, Failing controller PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the generator and disconnect battery negative before inspecting wiring.
Steps:
- Check DC supply: Tighten battery connections and the DC power terminals at the Gillette controller.
- Inspect safety switches: Wiggle wiring at oil pressure, coolant temp, and E-stop switches while observing for intermittent contact (engine off). Repair any loose terminals.
- Harness inspection: Look for chafed wires where the harness passes through bulkheads or around the engine.
- Controller: If all wiring is sound and shutdowns persist with no codes, the controller PCB may be failing and require replacement.
