Possible Causes
Cracked radiator, Loose hose clamp, Failed water pump seal, Damaged coolant hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the engine to cool completely before opening the cooling system. Coolant under pressure can cause burns.
Steps:
- Locate leak: Follow coolant trails from the puddle back to the source: radiator core, hose connections, water pump, or block plugs.
- Tighten clamps: Use a screwdriver or nut driver to snug hose clamps at the radiator, engine, and heater connections on the Gillette unit.
- Replace hoses: If hoses are soft, cracked, or bulging, drain coolant to below the hose level and replace with new hoses and clamps.
- Radiator or pump: If the radiator core is leaking or coolant drips from the water pump weep hole, component replacement is required by a technician.
