Possible Causes

Emergency stop pushbutton engaged, External shutdown circuit open, Faulty emergency stop switch, Broken wiring in emergency stop loop

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Ensure the generator is in OFF mode, isolate battery negative, and verify there is no automatic start signal from the ATS before working on the control panel.

  • Check emergency stop button: Locate the red emergency stop pushbutton on the Himoinsa enclosure. Turn or pull it to reset. Inspect for mechanical damage or sticking.
  • Inspect external shutdown loop: In the control panel, locate the terminals for the external emergency stop / remote shutdown (often labeled E-STOP, REM STOP, or similar on Himoinsa wiring diagrams). Verify continuity across the loop with a multimeter; it should be closed when no stop is requested.
  • Check wiring: Trace the emergency stop wiring from the button to the controller. Look for loose terminals, corrosion, or broken conductors, especially at door hinges and cable glands.
  • Test controller input: With the loop closed, measure at the controller input terminals to confirm the correct voltage or continuity as specified in the Himoinsa manual. If the controller still shows E01, the input circuit on the controller may be faulty.
  • Reset and test: Reconnect battery, clear alarms on the controller, and attempt a manual start. If E01 persists with a known-good loop, contact a qualified technician to test/replace the controller.
