Possible Causes
Low fuel in day tank, Blocked fuel filter, Air in fuel system, Faulty fuel level sensor in Himoinsa day tank
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn the generator OFF, isolate battery negative, and ensure no automatic start signal. Work in a well-ventilated area away from open flames.
- Check fuel level: Verify the main tank and Himoinsa day tank fuel levels. Top up with the correct diesel grade if low. Confirm the mechanical gauge reading matches the controller reading.
- Inspect fuel filters: Locate the primary and secondary fuel filters on the engine. If they are dirty or older than the maintenance schedule, replace them using OEM or equivalent filters. Prime the system using the manual priming pump if fitted.
- Bleed air from system: Open bleed screws on the fuel filter housing and injection pump (if applicable). Operate the priming pump until fuel flows without bubbles, then tighten bleed screws.
- Check fuel level sensor: Inspect the wiring to the day tank level sensor. Measure resistance or voltage according to the Himoinsa wiring diagram. Replace the level sensor if readings are out of specification.
- Clear alarm and test: Reconnect battery, clear E02 on the controller, and perform a manual start. If the fault persists with confirmed fuel supply, further diagnosis of the injection system is required by a diesel technician.
