Possible Causes
Faulty starter solenoid, Worn starter motor, Defective start relay in Himoinsa control panel, Broken wiring in start circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate battery negative before working on the starter circuit. Ensure the generator cannot start automatically.
- Listen for solenoid click: Attempt a start while listening near the engine. If there is no click, the solenoid may not be energised.
- Check start relay: In the Himoinsa control panel, locate the start relay (refer to wiring diagram). Verify coil voltage when a start is commanded. Replace the relay if the coil is energised but contacts do not close.
- Inspect wiring: Check cables from the relay to the starter solenoid for continuity and tight connections. Look for burnt or loose terminals.
- Test solenoid and starter: With battery connected and using proper precautions, measure voltage at the solenoid terminal during a start attempt. If voltage is present but the starter does not engage, the solenoid or starter motor is likely faulty and should be replaced.
- Re-test system: After repairs, clear E07 on the controller and perform several start/stop cycles to confirm reliable operation.
