Possible Causes
Ruptured fuel hose, Loose fuel line fittings, Faulty fuel pressure switch, Cracked fuel filter housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Stop the generator immediately. Do not smoke or use open flames near the unit. Isolate battery and contain any fuel spills.
- Inspect fuel lines: Visually check all fuel hoses from tank to engine for wet spots, cracks, or abrasion. Replace damaged hoses with fuel-rated hose of the correct size.
- Check fittings: Tighten hose clamps and threaded fittings at the fuel filter, injection pump, and day tank connections.
- Examine filter housing: Look for cracks or leaks around the fuel filter head and bowl. Replace the housing if damaged.
- Test fuel pressure switch: If fitted, locate the fuel pressure switch and inspect wiring. Test its operation with a pressure gauge and multimeter. Replace if it falsely indicates low pressure.
- Clean area and test: Clean any spilled fuel, restore power, clear E09, and run the generator while monitoring for new leaks.
