Possible Causes
Governor setpoint too high, Faulty electronic actuator, Incorrect controller frequency settings, Speed sensor calibration error
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not operate the generator with frequency outside specification. Shut down and lock out before adjustments.
- Check frequency: With the generator running unloaded, read frequency on the controller and verify with an external meter. Compare to rated value (50 or 60 Hz).
- Adjust governor: On mechanical governors, adjust the speed control screw slightly to bring frequency into range. On electronic governors, use the actuator controller or Himoinsa controller parameters to adjust rated speed.
- Inspect actuator linkage: Ensure the fuel actuator linkage moves freely and returns to idle without sticking.
- Verify controller settings: Confirm that nominal frequency and overfrequency thresholds are correctly set in the controller.
- Test under load: After adjustments, apply load and confirm frequency remains stable and E14 does not reappear.
