Possible Causes

Coolant leak in hoses or radiator, Faulty coolant level sensor, Evaporation due to incorrect coolant mix, Loose hose clamps

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Let the engine cool fully before opening the cooling system. Hot coolant is dangerous.

  • Check coolant level: Inspect the expansion tank and radiator (if accessible). Top up with the correct coolant mixture.
  • Inspect for leaks: Look for dried coolant traces or wet spots around hoses, radiator, water pump, and engine block connections. Tighten clamps and replace damaged hoses.
  • Test level sensor: Disconnect the coolant level sensor connector and test the sensor with a multimeter. Replace if it does not change state when submerged/removed from coolant.
  • Bleed system: After topping up, bleed air from the system using bleed screws to prevent false low-level readings.
  • Clear alarm and test: Reset E17 on the controller and run the generator while monitoring coolant level and for any new leaks.
