Possible Causes
Incorrect phase wiring at alternator terminals, Wrong connection at ATS output, Controller phase rotation setting mismatch, Reversed CT or VT connections
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate generator and ATS from mains and load. Verify absence of voltage before touching terminals.
- Verify phase order: Using a phase rotation meter, check the phase sequence at the generator output terminals (L1, L2, L3). It should match the installation design.
- Inspect wiring: Compare actual wiring to the Himoinsa wiring diagram. Correct any swapped phases at the alternator or breaker.
- Check ATS connections: Ensure the ATS input from the generator maintains the same phase order through to the load.
- Controller settings: Confirm the controller is configured for the correct phase rotation (e.g., ABC). Adjust if necessary according to the manual.
- Test breaker closure: After corrections, clear E18 and attempt to close the generator breaker under no-load conditions, then test with load.
