Possible Causes
Recent fuel filter change without proper bleeding, Small air leak on suction side, Empty day tank, Loose bleed screws on filter housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn OFF generator and isolate battery. Work in a well-ventilated area away from ignition sources.
- Check fuel supply: Confirm fuel level in main and day tanks. Open any isolation valves fully.
- Bleed fuel system: Use the manual priming pump on the fuel filter housing. Open bleed screws on the filter and injection pump (if fitted) until fuel flows without bubbles, then tighten.
- Inspect suction lines: Check hoses and fittings between tank and lift pump for cracks or loose clamps that could admit air. Replace or tighten as needed.
- Attempt restart: Reconnect battery and perform a start. If the engine starts and then dies, repeat bleeding and recheck for air leaks.
