Safety: Keep clear of hot exhaust components. Ensure adequate ventilation around the generator.

• Check load: Reduce electrical load to within the Himoinsa generator's rated capacity and observe smoke level.
• Inspect air filter: Open the air filter housing and inspect the element. Replace if dirty or clogged.
• Turbocharger check: With engine off and cool, inspect turbocharger for free rotation and absence of oil leaks.
• Injector service: Persistent black smoke at normal load may indicate worn or sticking injectors. Have a diesel technician test and service the injectors.
