Honda
Emergency Stop / Remote Stop Activated
Controller shows E19, generator stops unexpectedly during run

Possible Causes
Engaged emergency stop pushbutton, Faulty remote stop contact, Shorted emergency stop wiring, Defective emergency stop input on controller
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Confirm that the generator is stopped and cannot auto-start. Keep clear of moving parts.
- Check emergency stop button: Locate the red emergency stop (E‑STOP) button on or near the generator. If it is latched in, twist or pull to reset according to its design.
- Inspect remote stop circuits: If your system has remote stop contacts (e.g., building management system), verify that these contacts are not held in the stop position. Disconnect remote wiring at the controller to test if E19 clears.
- Check wiring for shorts: Trace the E‑STOP wiring harness for pinched or damaged insulation that could be shorting to ground.
- Test controller input: With wiring disconnected, measure the controller's E‑STOP input according to the service manual. If the input remains in STOP state with open wiring, the controller may be faulty.
