How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately shut OFF the generator, close the fuel supply valve, disconnect battery negative, and eliminate all ignition sources. Do not smoke or create sparks.
- Locate leak source: Trace wet fuel back to its origin: fuel filter, hose connections, tank seams, or sender flange.
- Tighten fittings: Carefully tighten hose clamps and threaded fittings. Do not overtighten plastic components.
- Replace damaged hoses or filter: If a hose is cracked or the filter housing is leaking, replace with Honda-approved fuel hose and a genuine or equivalent fuel filter.
- Check tank and sender gasket: Inspect the top of the fuel tank for leaks around the sender or fittings. Replace gaskets if seeping.
- Test for leaks: Reopen fuel valve and observe for several minutes before restoring power. Do not restart until all leaks are fully resolved.
