How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the generator, disconnect battery negative, and allow moving parts to stop before tightening anything.
- Inspect mounts: Check the rubber engine mounts between the Honda engine and base frame. Tighten mounting bolts and replace any cracked or collapsed mounts.
- Check enclosure panels: Tighten loose screws on access doors, roof panels, and exhaust shields. Add anti-vibration washers where needed.
- Inspect exhaust system: Ensure the muffler and exhaust piping are securely mounted and not contacting the enclosure.
- Run test: Restart and observe. If knocking or metallic internal noises persist, shut down and have the engine inspected by a technician for bearing or rod issues.
